چکیده

Wheat (Triticumaestivum L.) is a primary staple food crop that supports more than third of the world's population and Asia's main food. Abiotic stressors have an impact on wheat production all over world. A hydroponic research was carried out to investigate effects various salinity levels. i.e 1.5, 5, 10 15 ds/m different cultivars (Aas-11, Gold-16, Johar-16, 1711, 1712, 1713, 1718, 1725, 1754 V-4) during 2018 2019. The data regarding effect Plant shoot & Root length, Fresh dry weights No. tillers were recorded. Withevery increase in level, decline growth parameters observed. The number tillers, length root decreased with EC tested strains/varieties. An overall decrease total biomass by observed cultivars. cultivar 1713 showed tallest shoots while 1712 has lowest shoot. Overall, Aas-11 performed better tested.

Effects of phosphorus on antioxidant system in pepper cultivars under saline conditions.

Salinity is one of the most severe abiotic stresses in one-half of all irrigated lands, causing negative effects on physiological, biochemical, and molecular responses in plants. Application of chemical fertilizers, particularly phosphorus (P) fertilizers, may reduce harmful effects of salinity. In this study, an investigation was performed on the effects of exogenous application of different l...

Comparative Performance of Multivariable Agro-Physiological Parameters for Detecting Salt Tolerance of Wheat Cultivars under Simulated Saline Field Growing Conditions

Field-based trials are crucial for successfully achieving the goals of plant breeding programs aiming to screen and improve the salt tolerance of crop genotypes. In this study, simulated saline field growing conditions were designed using the subsurface water retention technique (SWRT) and three saline irrigation levels (control, 60, and 120 mM NaCl) to accurately appraise the suitability of a ...

Germination under Saline Conditions’

Three mutant strains of Arabidopsis thaliana var Columbia were selected for their ability to germinate in elevated concentrations of NaCI. They were not more tolerant than wild type at subsequent development stages. Wild-type strains could not germinate at concentrations >125 mM NaCI. l w o of the mutant strains, RS17 and RS20, could withstand up to 225 mM, whereas RS19 was resistant to 175 mM....

Saline/Sodic sub-soil on triticale, durum wheat and bread wheat yield under irrigated conditions

Sub-soil (> 30 cm) salinity and sodicity is a growing problem particularly in irrigated agricultural areas with rising water tables, poor water quality and/or deficient soil drainage. There were two objectives in this study; (1) to quantify the effect of sub-soil salinity and sodicity in grain yield of triticale, bread wheat and durum wheat and, (2) to determine if genotypes within and between ...

The effect of silicon on reducing oxidative damage caused by cadmium in wheat in hydroponic conditions

Abstract: The use of silicon has been considered as an effective strategy in reduce of cd uptake and affecting the oxidative damage caused by cd toxicity. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the presence silicon (0.1 mM/L) and different levels of cadmium (0.10, 50 μmol/L) in wheat plants under hydroponic conditions. The results showed that increasing the concentration of cd...
